Excuses
Someone’s mother told him he should go to the voting box, so he went. He checked boxes that his mother told him to check, having not done the reading himself. Someone lived in the suburbs, had work until six, and because he was tired at six did not take the time to go to the voting box, even though his mother had told him to. Someone lived in the city and didn’t have a driver’s license because his mother hadn’t sent it to him from his hometown so he didn’t go to the voting box because he was not registered in the city. Someone had a girlfriend in the city and was making love to her on November 4th with such passion that he could not leave the bed to go to the voting box. Someone was old with a cane in the suburbs and their driver forgot to pick them up to take them to the voting box. Someone was a driver for an old person in the suburbs but got sick and could not pick him up to go to the voting box on November 4th and could not go to the voting box himself. Someone’s pet died and their mother had cancer and their child was late for school and their bills were not paid and they had to make a run to the store. Someone died on November 4th. Someone lost something. It was raining outside so someone couldn’t go to the voting box.
